General Statement
ROCK BAND CLUB welcomes students with interests in all genres of music...from classic rock to country rock.....from Metal to Grind core.....from Pop to Punk.....we welcome students with interest in a wide variety of genres of music!
In the early years of ROCK BAND CLUB - Students participate in learning how to perform cover songs from commercial pop / rock / punk artists, such as Blur, Jimi Hendrix, The Troggs, Blink 182, and much more!
Beginner to intermediate ROCK BAND CLUB students also learn how to create their own original compositions. Ranging from styles such as classic rock to Metal, and everything in the middle...students are able to search through many genres and work towards creating their 'own sound' later in their music career.
Important information for intermediate - advanced students
As students progress in ROCK BAND CLUB - bands are able to negotiated their own curriculum, but with the goal in mind of learning man new songs every term!
In the past, students have chosen a wide range of specialist genres such as Post Hardcore, Grind core, Classic Rock / Australian Rock, Punk, and much more.
We welcome bands to head in their chosen direction, but insist that all bands are extremely productive and work towards a long term business / band plan. Bands are expected to draw on many genres, to be able to create their 'own sound'. Bands are also expected to maintain structure in the original compositions with performance outcomes in mind....eg. Writiing a diverse range of music with in a chosen genre or two. A term by term contract willbe negoiated with all bands...to assist in maintaining band direction. Students / Management / parents are welcome to be part of this important process.
